The Millrace Campground is located along the river in Wythe County at Foster Falls. It is a short walk to the canoe, bike, and horse livery that operates at Foster Falls and is adjacent to the historic village which includes a restored railroad depot, a caboose, and iron furnace. There is no vehicular traffic permitted in the campground. Sites include hardened camping area, fire ring, lantern post, picnic table and immediate access to the New River Trail. Fly-fishing and tubing is particularly popular from this location. Reservations are required. Same day reservations are permitted.

Two festivals are held annually at Foster Falls - the Wythe County Heritage Day held the third Saturday in September and the Foster Falls Railway Festival held in early September.

Directions: From I-77, take Exit 24. Go east on State Route 69 to SR 52. Go north to SR 608. Go east and follow signs.
