Join in the fun and festivities as Hillsville celebrates its annual Fourth of July with a parade and special activities. Throughout the day a number of activities can be found taking place, such as the parade of hats and patriotic singing at the Historic Carter Home, the County Historical Society is open for visitors, and many businesses remain open throughout the day. A key attraction is the annual parade which has people lining the streets of downtown Hillsville. Later that evening, Hot dogs and watermelon, local bands perform for entertainemtn, kids games and the fireworks are shown at the Grover King VFW Post - this fireworks display is a must-see attraction. The fireworks can be seen from practically anywhere in town. The Fourth of July in Hillsville is nothing short of a great hometown patriotic celebration.
